Over the course of my four years of high school, I have participated in clubs and sports where I have learned new things and made memories with friends. I was involved in Key Club, where we donate and volunteer to help the elderly, or people in need. During my time in this club, we donated numerous amount of times to soup kitchens and to people who needed clothes and jackets for the cold weather. I was also involved in National Honor Society. In NHS, we also did volunteer work such as tutoring kids in multiple subjects. All four years of high school I also took part in the cheerleading team. My freshman and sophomore year, I cheered on Gold Squad for boy’s soccer and girl’s basketball. My junior and senior year, I cheered on Black Squad for

Washburn National Honor Society Chapter: Statement of Purpose Regarding the Washburn Memorial Library Today, February 12, I am here to address you about the Washburn Memorial Library: I, Julia Dahlgren, Vice President and representative of the Washburn National Honor Society, am here this evening to discuss the issue of closing the Washburn town library. Our community rests upon the fragile structures of historical monuments and the atmosphere that we, as Washburn residents, have provided to our little town. By continuously reprimanding vital elements of Washburn, we are not only stripping away the essence of “small town living” but we are also losing parts of ourselves: our bank has faltered, our schools are struggling, our recreation department…

Throughout my college career, I have had many memorable achievements and gained lots of knowledge on valuable lessons. Yet there are specific lessons and achievements that stand out. Last year, I had the privilege of being asked to join Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society at UCR, which recruits the top 20% of all undergraduate students. By joining and becoming actively involved with the organization, I was fortunate enough to be offered the position of Vice- President of the organization, which is the most meaningful achievement I have had so far.…

Lauren Since about ninth grade, there was one thing that my best friend Sarah and I wanted from high school: to be in National Honor Society. Even in our freshman year, we knew what an honor it would be to be part of such an elite organization, and we wanted to be part of that. In our school, there is a requirement that you must be in at least two clubs (among other stricter requirements) to be considered for induction.…

After my two full years at Roscommon High School, I am very grateful to have reached the standard for National Honor Society membership. This is an opportunity that not everyone has the privilege to be a part of during their high school career. I would like to display the ways in which I have demonstrated the required assets to be a part of this organization. Not only do I possess the qualities of character, scholarship, leadership, and service, but through N.H.S., I am certain that I will grow tremendously in each of these areas. The first quality I have demonstrated throughout my life, but more specifically, my high school career, is character.…

I also was in our schools choir for 4 years, advanced choir for 2 and a half years, and our acapella 24 member jazz choir for a year and a half. Other than being involved with music, I was highly involved in my school's chapter of S.A.D.D., or students against destructive decisions, for 3 years. I would love to attend Archbishop Mitty High School because of all the wonderful things I experienced during 7th day, shadowing, and open house. From the start, I knew that Mitty was the school right for me. I have always felt very comfortable walking on campus because I know so many people, and I know how every staff member is so friendly and full of hospitality. On seventh grade day, I got to look around the school, try the lunches, and was told lots about Mitty by the wonderful and caring staff. I enjoyed the rush of Monarch Madness.…

To be honest, I have few memories of Mr. Cannarozzi. He was never my teacher, never someone I had grown close too. Still, the memory I have of our only interaction showed that he had a lasting and positive impact on everyone, even those he did not know. I remember running into Lenox, excited to get to Mrs. McCallum’s class. I had reached the very last step and went to grab the heavy, fire-resistant door, but had made the mistake of having my little foot to close.…

Although being apart of my high school and a competitive cheerleading team took of much of my time outside the classroom, my coaches, both high school teachers, and myself, never let it affect my grades. Being a cheerleader in turn made me an active member in my community. Throughout my years as a student athlete at Panther Valley High School, when I wasn't practicing, studying or participating in my local chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), I would be volunteering in my community.
