Participating in a society such as the National Honors Society helps students to learn the importance of helping others and being a leader. It is important that students learn to be leaders and communicate well with others. Many careers require working with others, and National Honors Society helps students develop these qualities that they will use later on life. This society encourages and motivates students to do more than schoolwork; by serving others and leading, these students are formed into well-rounded individuals. NHS works with students to develop service projects to benefit the community. This inspires students to help others and can inspire a career for some students.
