As a sophomore at Washington High school, over the last two years, I have been able to see the impact that the National Honor Society has made on our school, first hand. Seeing the positive changes being made, I have always been drawn to do the same. I have come to understand that the members of the society are the elite in scholarly ability, character, and self-commitment, who possess the knowledge and the drive to do what is necessary to better our school’s community as a whole. In writing this letter, I intend to share my understanding of the society, its role in our community, and the plans I look forward to completing as a potential future member.

Not only do the projects better the community around them, they also build up each of the members teamwork capabilities, and enhance their leadership qualities. They go out of their way to challenge themselves, and grow to be the best they can be. I found ways to challenge myself as well. Not only do I strive for academic perfection, but I aim to grow as much as possible, especially in my favorite class, math. At the beginning of this school year, I continued on with the required course and took on an additional math class to help further my knowledge in this field.
I believe that the National Honor Society and its members have a huge impact on our school. Because they are held in high regard, the school and its administrators tend to listen to what they have to say. The members of the society use this power to make positive changes, and voice the opinions of their peers. They talk frequently about fundraising, and changes that the students feel are necessary or advantageous for the betterment of the
