As I participate in activities where I am the leader, I make sure that I work with my peers and listen to their ideas in hopes that we can join together to devise a creative plan of action. Through my experiences as an editor on the yearbook, captain of the JV Volleyball Team and SWAT Travel Team I believe that I demonstrate the NHS ideal of leadership. Being a member of the volleyball team has taught me a lot about unity. I try to bring what I learn on the courts to everyday life. The four pillars of National Honor Society- scholarship, leadership, service, and character- have almost solely shaped my development. I pride myself in being true to all four of these pillars, in both my daily life, as well as who I am overall. I feel as if each of these virtues represents a fourth of who I hope I am; someone who values learning, is a fair leader, dedicates herself to her community, and leads a moral life. My high school career has been stressful because it is an immense amount of work to excel in each of these categories, but I couldn't be happier with where that work has put me. I am proud to be the person I am today.…

Ideas I can bring to the National Honors society based on scholarship is volunteering for a non profit organization for an event that is held in the community. Spending time on helping others shows that not only you care about yourself but you also care about others in the community. When you work hard you don't expect an award the main objective is to make an impact. You show that making a change on an issue shows how committed and willing you are to spare your own time to contribute to an organization.
