National Honor Society Essay The National Honor Society is of great significance in select individual’s high school careers. To be a member of the NHS is an honor. In order to become a member of the NHS, one must demonstrate some fundamental characteristics, such as: honesty, integrity, trustworthiness, and demonstrate the qualities of a leader. When an individual is chosen to become a member of the NHS, it ignites pride, and it is a reward. I would like to become a member of the NHS because I feel like I demonstrate the fundamental qualities of a member, it looks good on college applications and resumes, and it would be an incredible honor. The fundamental qualities of a member are shown throughout their daily life. I was a member of the National Junior Honor Society, which requires the same characteristics of their members. Therefore, I feel as though I demonstrate the proper qualities of a dedicated member. I am a very honest and trustworthy person in everyday situations. I demonstrate leadership characteristics when they are necessary, becoming a member would help me experience various styles of leadership. I also possess a strong set of morals. Since education is very important to me, I plan on applying to colleges and jobs that have high standards. Being able to record that an individual is/was a member of the NHS on a resume could be a deciding factor to receiving a job or receiving acceptance into a college. It is the deciding factor for many things of the same importance as colleges, due to the fact that being a member of NHS shows that an individual is well-rounded.
