Upon entering college, my high school career has set me apart from being a “normal” graduate. My unique personal interests, like volunteering at the animal shelter, define me as a passionate and hardworking individual. I have taken on a special interest in my friends at my local animal shelter, and with my free time, I enjoy helping wash dogs, playing with puppies, and cleaning kennels. The time I spend there is not only beneficial for the shelter, but also for me. I have learned the pay off for working at the shelter is worth a lot more than a few service hours. It is worth a lifetime of lessons. Another interest of mine is being an ambassador for Sand Cloud Marine Conservation. Through student council I have worked closely with my teachers and advisors to better my school by bringing our student body together for events such as pep rallies and competitive games during homecoming week. I have also made great friendships with peers outside of my usual classrooms which has helped shape me into a well rounded person. With National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society, we have bettered our community through projects such as a can food drive and buying Christmas gifts for children in need. National Honor Society has also helped me gain connections with our local Special Olympics where I volunteered this past year and plan to continue volunteering. As a member of Mu Alpha Theta, I helped to donate school supplies to children in need as well as a food drive and buying Christmas gifts for more children. I competed in business related competitions through Future Business Leaders of America and learned about common rules in a place of business such as expected dress code. The extracurriculars I have been in helped me become involved in things other than my school work and give me a place to socialize in a good
