Shelly had a meeting with Brian Kimbro on 05/21/2016 in regards to being the provider for a fuel generator. However, as of 06/01/2016, Mr. Kimbro had not yet sent over a contract. My assignment was to reach out to Mr. Kimbro to verify information and get the request processed. After speaking with Mr. Kimbro he needed a letter stating that National Healthcare Corporation (NHC) agreed to a year contract with Kimbro Oil Company, and needed all directors and department leaders in charge. Mr. Shelly requested that I type up a letter to submit to the Oil Company, and have them agree to the letter before open house on 06/06/2016. Once the letter was finished Mr. Shelly reviewed and the letter was sent over to Kimbro Oil Company. With the new facility opening 06/06/2016, the list of things needing to be done could have been cut in half if the organization did not procrastinate.

However, once the internship started, other goals came to mind. Working with the elderly will still be the field I plan to have a career in. However, the goal of working in the human resources department is no longer a factor. Mr. Tim Shelly, gave me the opportunity to work in several areas within my time at National Healthcare Corporation (NHC). I job shadowed and worked with different departments at two different locations. Richland Place located in Nashville, TN, I worked closely with the Building Administrator, Christina Jones who has been with NHC for over 20 years, the Director of Nursing, who has been with NHC for over 10 years, and the Directors of Recreation who both combined have been with NHC for over 30 years. NHC Place at the Trace a new facility that opened June 6, 2016, I was able to see the process of how a new facility is opened, the rules and regulations and what has to be done before any residents can move into a facility. I worked closely with the Business Department Mangers, Director of Nursing, Director of Admissions, and Building Administrator. The experience in all areas allowed me to see different angles that would benefit my career. Once my internship came to a close, I have decided that I do eventually want to enroll into a Administrator in Training program and become a Building Administrator.
