This article, written by Marc Thiessen, really appeals to the pathos of the American People. He brings in historical references to the country from whom we won independence, stating that the players respected their song but not the national anthem of the United States. He mentions that the day of this protest was on National Gold Star Mother’s Day, this was in an effort to again appeal to pathos. Thiessen uses a quote from a mother of a deceased Veterans to add to his pathos. While I do not agree with this point of view I understand where he is coming from.
