They attempt to recognize the working class as those whom have built Germany as a nation and have gained the support of many labor unions throughout the history of the party. With the NDP’s deeply rooted neo-Nazi approaches the party still views the workers as a necessity to promote welfare through assisted measure guaranteed to promote the well being of the population at large. When the question of labor unions wanting the workweek lowered from 40 to 35 hours requiring more overtime pay, the party would want to maintain the status quo of keeping overtime pay at 1.5 times a workers wages above 40 hours per week. The party does believe that the rich should not govern the decisions of the nation, and with rising the workweek overtime many employers would have to lay off worker to be able to afford wages. Due to the belief that NATO does not represent the views and interests of the European people, the NDP would not involve itself with relations with the USA. In the case of the USA invading Iran, NDP does not believe that Europa should commit troops to help out its NATO ally. Being a strong nationalist party they would neither go out of their way to censure the United States. Through a realist lens war is common, but all loyalty lies within the state and nation, not with IGO’s. With war being common, the main source of power comes from military and economic control, exhausting resources to an ally is not of interest to the NDP.
