National Anthem Controversy

What do you think, is taking a knee during the national anthem disrespectful? Players have caused a huge controversy because they have been taking a knee during the national anthem. Many people have responded to it in many ways, the fans showed disapproval to the players, the players have started linking arms during the anthem, also started staying in their locker rooms while the national anthem is played, even our current president also responded to it in a negative way. Our president states that linking arms is alright but “kneeling is not acceptable” and if the fans stop going to the games because the players cannot respect our country and our flag change will occur, meaning fire or suspend. They played it one day during a baseball game in 1865 which was during the civil war where many major league players were getting drafted for the military, when they started playing it the audience showed immediate respect after that day more people started showing up and it became a tradition playing it before games. When the national anthem is played it is respectful to stand up because it shows we respect our flag and our country. We stand for many reasons, to honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, not focus on what divides us but on what to unite us, which is being an American, to show that we appreciate what the country has to offer us and many other things. There are also other reason we kneel for, we kneel at church to pray or any other time we would like to pray, people in the military also kneel to show humility and adoration. There has been a huge controversy with what is not acceptable during that time, many NFL players have been kneeling during the anthem. There are many people who are against it and for it but there is no particular rule in the NFL rulebook. The players are strongly encouraged to stand up, but not required to stand during the national
