Age discrimination is a situation where a person, that is, an applicant or employee receives less favor because of his or her age. Discrimination has been within us for a long time basing on different characteristics that consequently allows a particular group to identify another as less credible, less intelligent and less skilled. For centuries, assuming that other people were undeserving was lightly acceptable until recent decades where discrimination was seen fatal to development. The National Age Discrimination in Employment Act was initiated and passed in the year 1967.
