Nathan Dunlap was a 19 year old African American male from Aurora, Colorado. Dunlap grew up in a single parent home with his mother, Carol Dunlap. Ms. Dunlap suffered from a bipolar disorder, that caused her to have unpredictable mood swings and hypersexual behavior. When having a bipolar episode she would often sexually and physically abuse Nathan and his sister Adinea. On December 14, 1993, Dunlap went into the local Chuck E. Cheese Pizzeria, where he once worked. He sat around for a few hours and played some video games, mainly shooting games.
