Next time you leave your house take a quick look around and ask yourself if you see more trees or building? Large forests get torn down bit by bit in order to make room building. On your street there may be trees planted but compared to a forest its nothing. One image by Natalia Rak shows the sad truth that in the future if we continue to live like this tress will become rare and everyone will try to save them. By looking at the mural you can not tell if the girl is a giant or if the tree is extremely tiny. Yet you can tell that she cares for the tree and wants to see it grow. Many people know that the future of environment looks gloom, yet only a handful try and do something.
Giants in polish legends destroyed everything they came across, trees, animals, buildings, etc. and they soon began to run out of food. Humans than started to plow land and replant vegetation in order to survive. The giants seeing the error in their way followed the humans example and helped them replant everything. She on the other hand is not like the generation before her she took it upon herself to help this tree grow. She unlike her parents couldn’t just stand by and watch nature get destroyed like this. There are laws in place today that protect nature preserves and prevent them from being replaced with building. Some would say this is enough to protect and preserve our environment and that they don’t need to change or do anything, yet our human population is growing and will continue to grow. Soon the restrictions will be lifting in order to properly house our society. What happens than?
