Thyroid-like low-grade papillary nasopharyngeal adenocarcinoma (TL-LGNPPA) belongs to conventional /mucosal surface origin-type, which exhibits papillary growth and abnormal expression of thyroid transcription factor-1 (TTF-1) mimicking papillary thyroid carcinoma. TL-LGNPPA is extremely rare with only a limited number of reported cases. Here, we present a case of TL-LGNPPA, and include a review of the literature.

Computed tomography(CT) showed only soft tissue fullness in the nasopharynx without bone erosion or expansion, the thyroid gland normal, and no significantly enlarged neck lymph nodes. Laryngoscopic study identified an approximately 1-cm pedunculated well-circumscribed mass arising from the nasopharyngeal roof mucosa. The patient was euthyroid with normal thyroid function test. Systemic examination revealed no metastatic lesions. Her past medical history was completely negative. The nasopharyngeal tumor was subsequently complete resected via endoscopic approach. There has been neither local recurrence nor distant metastasis 6 months after
