Pele is 73 years old and he was born on October 23, 1940, in Three Hearts a town in Brazil. He had two wives and 6 children. His father was Dondinho also a pro soccer player for Atletico Mineiro but had a devastating injury in his knee and the family did not have enough money for surgery. His mother was Dona Celeste that also enjoyed soccer until Dondinho‘s awful injury. As a child Pelé was poor, and struggled in his life. His family could not supply him with the proper equipment he needed. He played with coconuts and cantaloupes. His father would take an old sock and fill it up with rags into a round shape good enough to roll, good for a five-year old, but that homemade ball made him go a long way. Pelé scored 1,281 goals in his whole entire soccer career that’s in eleven years! He started on 1956, on a weak team called Santos, but he progressed. Pelé wasn't that tall he was five feet eight inches that’s my height. That was a disadvantage compared to 6 feet
