Nasa's Inventions: Going To The Moon

Great Essays
Neil Armstrong once said “I think we're going to the moon because it's in the nature of the human being to face challenges. It's by the nature of his deep inner soul... we're required to do these things just as salmon swim upstream.” NASA has been sending satellites, space shuttles, people, and many other things into space ever since they were first created, but sending all those things into space isn’t the only thing that NASA has done, they have also done as much as they can to help the people. Even though many people believe that NASA’s inventions are only beneficial to themselves and anything relating to outer space, their exploration and studies have also helped advance technology, such as better healthcare, more efficient solar energy and public safety, and innovating new things to help improve the spacecraft and suits to make them safer. On October 1st, 1958, NASA was created a response to the Soviet Union's launch of their first satellite the Sputnik I in the great space race. When NASA was first created they started making satellites. The first U.S. satellite, Explorer 1, was launched January 31st, 1958 as a cosmic ray detector to measure the level of radiation in Earth’s orbit. Three months later, on the first of April, …show more content…
NASA’s satellites have helped with us predicting the weather and climate so that the farmers know what crops to plant. But not all satellites are watching the weather, some of the satellites are helping with finding disease and helping cure it, the satellites helped find out that the Hantavirus is linked to the changes in precipitation. Also satellite imaging can help alert them of a cholera, malaria, and even the avian flu outbreak. With these new and more advanced satellites being made it has helped NASA invent new things that is helping change the world in a variety of ways, such as helping with improving

Apollo technology has made numerous innovations for missions, but they also carried over to the everyday world. Many of innovations personally impact individuals globally. For example, I have used many of NASA’s technologies for medical, school, and home scenarios. During multiple school projects we used solar power to complete labs, and also use calculators on a daily bases that use solar panels. I have also used digital image analyzers and software, or an MRI, due to a knee injury received when I was participating in volleyball.…

Although I prefer to view NASA as a sort of scientific Mecca driven by fascination and exploration, through a rose-colored telescope if you will, that was not always entirely the case. Even after the dissolution of World War II, tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union failed to waver. Our wartime feud over missiles with the USSR lingered, which then evolved into the Space Race for supremacy in spaceflight capability. On October 4, 1957, the United States watched in silence and in fear as the Soviet Union’s satellite Sputnik orbited far above their heads; an elusive, mysterious blip among the stars. Was this machine capable of spying on our government and military bases?…

Rockets can launch satellites into space, and by doing so it gives us a new way to send information around the world. Satellites can be used for communication around the world, from planning military plans, to helping planes and ships navigate, and also can report weather conditions. The first satellite launched in space was called Sputnik by the Soviet Union in 1957. Without the invention of a rocket, we would never been able to send a satellite up in space. Now today, we have 2,271 satellites orbiting around…

Apollo technology has impacted my life in many ways from running shoes, solar panels, and wireless tools. Every morning I put on my running shoes for my daily run, and thanks to NASA they are now more shock absorbent than ever. On top of that, the city in which I live in is always sunny, and instead of wasting energy we now use solar panels at our houses to save energy. I may not use power tools every day, but they have made the small projects much simpler. Apollo technology has also impacted my community by giving us security systems, firefighter suits and easier treatments for dialysis patients.…

When you hear the word space exploration you automatically think of what is really out there or do other forms of life exist. One of the biggest achievements in American history is when NASA’s Apollo 11 first touched down on the moon on July 20, 1969. As Neil Armstrong was the first American to ever step foot onto the moon, but now the space program may be in jeopardy due to significant budget cuts. What would this mean to fellow Americans if space exploration were cut down or completely gotten rid of? Current budget cuts to the U.S. space program may reduce space exploration without regard to job creation and the benefit of acquiring a greater knowledge of outer space.…

Similar to the explorations of the New World and South America to be conquered, space is the modern conquest where we endeavor to survey our solar system and investigate the vast universe. What first arose as an idea in the 1950s, it has continued to expand advancing the rate of technological improvement. Some would say, other than exploration what greater influence has the reconnaissance of space brought upon? Other than analyzing different spectrums of the galaxy, the conquest of space led to an exchange of ideas between different nations in efforts to improve their spaceships and space technologies. The Soviet Union was the first country to send an orbiting satellite around Earth, for this started the fundamentals of space exploration and…
