Essay 3 On July 29, 1958 The United States established NASA which is funded by the government. Nasa was created simply to beat the soviet union to the moon which was named the space race. Since space exploration became a reality there has been a total of 18 fatalities. This supports the fact that space exploration is dangerous. Feb 1, 2003 was the launch of a space shuttle that failed to launch which resulted to an explosion ( latimes.com par. 1 ) . The launch was live broadcast throughout out The United States. The aftermath was 7 deaths one of the member was a public teacher who won a contest ever since then NASA has banned civilians to go on space explorations. The design of a space shuttle is not environmentally friendly. It leaves a trail of harmful items in the orbital rings which is a threat to the future. According to NASA “500,000 items of debris in orbital” (Vittana.org par. 10 ).Space is uninhabitable for humans there has yet to be a human born in space but studies have been tested with lab rats. The theory is that an individual were to be born in space the bones structure would be weaker due to the lack of gravity that applies pressure on human on earth. Space exploration is going into to the unknown not knowing if there is other life forms. Making contact with other life forms could be a risk.
