Nasa Crane Project Report

Great Essays
Nasa Crane In this project we had to design a crane that could hold the most batteries. We only had a few materials to create our cranes. The materials were a box, three pencils, string, paper cups, a paperclip, and duct tape. With these materials you had to design a crane that could hold the most batteries without breaking and it had to raise six inches. You first had to define the problem, then you had to establish a design, then you had to build your design. Then after you built it you would test it. Then after that you would redesign to try and improve it. What I liked about this project was many different things. I love competing so competing with my other classmates made it fun. I like to build things so I liked the building part because …show more content…
If your egg survived the fall then you design was a success, however my egg did not survive and me and my partner had to do the next step of the engineering process which was redesign. After we redesigned we tested it again and it was still unsuccessful. Even though my project was unsuccessful twice I still enjoyed and learned a lot from it.
I like a lot about this project. One thing that I liked was the actual project itself. I have always wanted to try to do an egg drop challenge. So the project was very fun. I also liked the competition with the other classmates. Even though I lost it was still fun competing with my other classmate and it was fun seeing their designs. I also liked how we got to do our own design and we did not have to follow a certain way to do it. With doing all this and having fun I still learned a lot from

Whichever bridge held the most weight but weighed the less is the winner. The only materials that you can use in this project is balsa wood and glue. For the bridge that I did it had to span one foot long. First we defined our problem then we established our design, then we prepare to build it, then we built our bridge and we are going to test it soon. If our bridge is unsuccessful than we will have to redesign and try to make it better. Things I like about this project is about the same things that I liked about the other project. I liked competing with the other classmates. I liked how we got to design our own bridge and not follow directions on how to make one. I also liked that we got to work in groups and work with new people that we wouldn’t have thought about working with before. These are the things I liked about this balsa wood bridge design project. I was a very fun bridge design project to

My big home project was accomplished at Chase High School instead of it being completed at my home. Mrs. Kraus provided me and a fellow student ( Ashlyn Cox) the opportunity to clean the concession stand in the gymnasium so it would be clean for the Prom. We cleansed the concession stand with Oxygen Orange which is an all purpose cleaner and can clean almost anything. Prior to heading to the location we gathered four wash rags and we each had our own bottle of Oxygen Orange. When we arrived to the concession stand it was an absolute mess.…

I am my 4-H club’s president. My club has 52 people in it with most of them being under the age of ten. Sometimes I regret running for president, but then at other times I feel it is a great leadership experience. The duties of a president are not only running the meetings and showing animals. It is about helping out the community, helping the younger members with their projects and teaching them how to be a better person and also teach them responsibility with taking care of their animals.…

When I had to pick a project I had to keep a few things in mind like who do I do it for and what will it be. After thinking I realized I wanted to do something for the Lynchburg Elementary School, because they always help the scouts in the past so I wanted to do something nice for them. From there I had to figure out what I was going to do so that I could have it all approved by the school system. After a few days I finally figured out what I would like to do, I wanted to make a pavilion…

Not only do the projects better the community around them, they also build up each of the members teamwork capabilities, and enhance their leadership qualities. They go out of their way to challenge themselves, and grow to be the best they can be. I found ways to challenge myself as well. Not only do I strive for academic perfection, but I aim to grow as much as possible, especially in my favorite class, math. At the beginning of this school year, I continued on with the required course and took on an additional math class to help further my knowledge in this field.…

The main thing that surprised me would be the diversity of work they have done and how often they are pushing the boundaries of the construction industry. Each build is very unique, innovative, and holds characteristics of its own that allows each project to stand out. The main project that captured my attention and enthusiasm very quickly was the Exxon Mobil Campus which was extremely unique. It was a cubical with all walls made of glass, supported by two buildings sitting on each side. It allowed me to realize how often the boundaries are being pushed and how rapidly building methods and technology is being…

This current semester I am enrolled in Professor Zack’s Media Production I class. Our first project of the semester was a silent film that would focus on someone or something involving a lock and a key while expressing an emotion. This project wasn’t a solo project, but instead involved working with one other person. The lock and key could be metaphoric or literal and from that concept we had to tell a story in twelve to fifteen shots. Our idea was to convey a young musician finding the right “key” on his guitar and “unlock” the excitement (which was our assigned emotion) inside of him.…

At New Tech High @ Coppell (NTH@C) one of the most intimidating projects for most students is the physics class’s “Pumpkin’ Chunkin’” project. This is because of the limited time that they have to build a completely functional catapult and it tests the ability of people to collaborate for long periods of time. I was also afraid of starting this project because I had not idea how to do everything for this project. I could design and do the math, but I not real experience with power tools or working with large piece of wood.…
