Na's Diary By Zlata Filipovic

Imagine that you are 11 years old, you go to school, you live a totally normal life except one thing, you're in the middle of a war writing all of the horrors down in your diary! The trangities you witnessed would probably be newsworthy. These events would change your life forever, even after the war. Reporters,TV crews, and maybe even celebrities would want to talk to you. This isn’t about me it’s about a girl named Zlata. Yes, this is a real thing not some fake thing you find on google. In the article, “Zlata’s Diary,” by Zlata Filipovic it states “ So, we turned a safe corner of the sitting room into a “bedroom.” This reveals that the bedrooms with windows or any place with windows were not safe. If people were shooting and it went through the window it would hit you. So, Zlata and her family had to change their house up a bit. It also states “I was positive the war would stop, but today a shell fell over the park.” This reveals that lots of people were hurt even Zlata’s friend Nina was shot and killed. …show more content…
When you write it makes you feel better and it’s like telling someone but not telling them. You don’t have to share what you wrote in your diary. Writing is like a free therapy. The article,”The Freedom Writers Diary,” by Zlata Filipovic states “These students and their teacher, Erin Gruwell, chose to read Anne Frank:The Diary of a young girl, my own book, Zlata’s diary: A Child’s Life in sarajevo (and many other books), and were inspired to start writing their own diaries. This quote from the article changed the lives of the Freedom writers because they started to write in a diary. Now they can live their life just like Zlata
