Very informative Matthew! I must admit, I am not familiar with gunshot spatter and cast-off spatter. I have a lot of experience and training in many areas, but never in this area. I know gunshot spatter is extremely important when it comes to crime scene investigation and in helping to determine where exactly the suspect and victim were located at the scene. I did not realize high-velocity spatter helps the investigators in placing the suspect at the scene. That is very interesting about cast-off spatter as well because it can help to determine the angle, direction, and which hand the suspect was striking the victim with.
