When speaking to Isuara “Mikaela” Carro, she seemed to be very busy with her little nephew. We began talking about our plans for Thanksgiving and what we will be doing throughout the day. We also talked about how many people would be visiting or in attendance for Thanksgiving dinner. We also spoke about the last session we had, and she said she was very excited to have been able to attend a session and see us up there on line. I asked her what her parent’s reactions were to her joining a sorority, and she said that when they find out that she joined a sorority that they were completely fine with it. For my McCandless Project I decided to dress up for a day. Here are some of the things I did in order to complete the look: I curled my hair, I wore heels, a skirt, a collared shirt beneath a sweater, and my glasses, and I wore makeup. When people saw me their initial reaction was almost always a smile whether they knew me or not. Following the smile, they would comment something like, "You look so nice today!"…

Thanksgiving dinner in my family is a big deal all our family and friends gather around to celebrate. There is always plenty of food, drinks, music and laughter. My family is loud, crazy and not afraid to voice their opinions so there is always drama at every dinner or family event. I chose to write on this because I never payed attention to detail or interactions at these dinners like why the women cook? Or why it is important that we are all together.…

The anticipation for Thanksgiving break is over the top. The thought of home cooked meals, family, and no professors talking a student 's ear off for a week are heavenly. Of course all the classic thanksgiving things happen but there are also psychological things that go on. (Darn that psychology sneaking its way into everything, it obviously never goes on break.) Although psychology is used every minute of every day i 'm only going to talk about 5 concepts, persuasion, cognition, emotion, personality, and the self.…

When I first learned of this assignment my first thought was to interview my mom. She is the one person in my life I am closest to. Since we are only twenty three years apart, I thought it would be best to focus on her life up to the point where she decided to have kids. Though I knew most of what she told me it was still nice to just sit and talk about her life experiences. My mother was born to older parents and was the youngest of three children.…

Speaking of festivities, the 9-hole ladies celebrated their annual Christmas Lunch on December 3rd, and lunch wouldn't be complete without the beautiful table decor created by our lovely Suzanne Schmitz. Lori Randall captured our attention at lunch too, with a slide show collection of our current season and pictures from decades long ago. Lori has proven to be a wonderful golf historian and 9-hole photographer. Way to go, Lori.…

Thanksgiving Extra-Credit Assignment My family has never been big on the holidays- I almost always spend them at a friend’s home. This year, I went to my friend Alex’s home for Thanksgiving alongside my friend Jay. Alex and Jay are frankly some of the greatest friends I can ask for, and going in to thank them I knew they would take it light-heartedly and make a joke out of it. Before we sat down for dinner, the three of us were sitting in her living room ranting and cracking jokes.…

Swoosh!I opened the door to my house. As I walked in my house the smell of turkey drifted through the air, I realized that it was Thanksgiving. Something had happened the year before that made me hate Thanksgiving, like Wrecking ball by Miley. It involved turkey, hunting, and my friend Bobby. It was terrifying like skydiving without a parachute it's fun going down until you realize that you don’t have the parachute, but at the end it was pretty fun.…
