Narrative On Snowboarding

About two years ago during the winter, my friends and I went to Mountain Creek to go snowboarding. We would go frequently throughout the snowboarding season, so it was like any other day. We got there and headed straight for the slopes. After an hour or so, the temperature raised and they started blowing fake snow. This made it difficult when riding past the machines because you couldn’t really see throw the thick cloud of fake snow the machine was making. As I was riding through the machines thick cloud of snow it began to stick to my goggles. As I tried to wipe it off so I could see my board hit a patch of fake snow and I went down with my feet and board in the air.
At first I tried to get up, as I didn’t think anything was wrong. Then

"One of the greatest discoveries a man makes, one of his great surprises, is to find he can do what he was afraid he couldn't do,"this quote by Henry Ford reconnects when it comes to facing something you're afraid of; our fears. When we get over fears, we realize only then that we had the courage before to do that something we were afraid of doing. One time I was afraid was when I started ice skating. I was at a party for my younger sister's friend at an ice ring.…

The snow ramp built at the bottom for the sleds to launch from suddenly seemed far too large and steep. ‘WOOSH!” Robert was airborne. He reveled in the freedom of the vicious snow, but then he was falling once again, headed straight for an ice patch that was quite jagged, and there was no way to avoid it. He landed with a sickening CRACK as one arm gave way and the rest of his already damaged body fell onto the fearsome and forbidding ice.…

Being a licensed snowboard instructor can have its perks; for instance, you get insane deals on all of the gear you could ever possibly need and get free lift tickets, but the most rewarding part of instructing for me is seeing how excited my students get when they finally nail the skill they’d been working so hard to master, whether it be making it down the hill without falling for the first time or landing their first air 360. That exact excitement is what drew me into this sport in the first place, and helping others achieve a sense of accomplishment and build up their riding skills is the best part of the job. Admittedly, it took me a little while to appreciate my students’ strange ways of expressing enthusiasm for learning, and for the…

ISP Snowboarding trumps skiing Over the past few decades ski areas have been split between skiers and snowboarders. People who are looking to hit the slopes for the first time have a big decision to make: buy/rent skies or a snowboard? Given these two options, I believe that first timers should take up snowboarding instead of skiing. Snowboarding has a cooler and more interesting culture, snowboarding is more practical, and snowboarding has better style than skiing.…

I just realized that I dropped one of my glove warmers, I wanted to get them…

It all started after my friend’s party, where we all went ice skating for her 9th birthday. It was my first ever time stepping onto the ice, a long time before my life revolved around the sport. Even though I had never skated before, my friends and their parents told me that I stood out compared to the other girls. After I realised how much I enjoyed it, my mum decided to sign me up for the learn to skate program, where I progressed through the levels and soon learnt the basics of ice skating.…
