How my Lone Star College Experience has Influenced my Life? Lone Star College is not an educational institute only; it is a home that welcomes thousands of students every year irrespective of their cast, creed, age, and gender and provides shelter of enlightenment to them. I moved to the United States of America from Pakistan in 2016 to further my studies and decided to start off my educational journey from Lone Star Kingwood College. Fortunately, it proved to be the greatest decision of my life. This institution gave direction to my learning and molded my personality into a more intellectual and mindful being. It alleviated all my worries and tensions of receiving a cultural shock and gave me utmost love and respect. In short, Lone Star College has significantly impacted my life and changed it completely, not only academically, but also, financially, and emotionally. Firstly, Lone Star College helped me establish the foundation of educational endeavors. I plan to complete my Associates of Arts, i.e. sixty college credit hours, and …show more content…
This is the greatest relief for me. When I moved here, I was very concerned about financing my college, since I did not have a job and was not aware of the system here. However, the financial aid department at Lone Star College is very efficient and supportive; they guided me through the entire process of FAFSA and helped me obtain federal grants. In addition to this, career services assisted me in finding an on-campus job through work-study programs. I work at the learning support lab, and it is very convenient for me to manage my studies and work together. Moreover, I am grateful to the Lone Star foundation donors who acknowledge the efforts of hardworking students and reward them generously by donating large sums of money. I have received several scholarships; thus, all this together eased my tension of paying for the
