Whenever someone picked me up, I got excited and started to jump around inside my smooth, brass shell. Day in, and day out people picked me up, but I never learned why nobody wanted me. I was about to fall asleep when a normy picked me up and dropped me into her basket. I was so excited that I rang longer than I was in the lady’s hands. As the tall, skinny, and palely dressed lady walked, I rang in excitement. When we finally stopped, I was lifted out of the holding device and put in a bag. The space above the hallway was darkening and it was the first time the Giant and I didn’t have somewhere to sleep. As we wandered the hallways we saw some grimy normies and some kids with starch white clothes. As Giant and I passed by they started throwing things at us. They were relentless!! Thing after thing hit Giant even though he was running they still hit him. That was when I heard the release of something different, it smashed against Giants backend and he whimpered in pain. The kids with the odd clothes cackled as Giant whimpered and fell out of the hallway. As my eyes close I see little normies friend then darkness consumed

The downward spinning felt like an eternity. I'm not sure how we arrived, but we found ourselves in a dark cave, apparently under Sylvan Lake. It was so dark, I had to fumble around and find my flashlight in my fanny pack. I pushed the button and the dark cave lit up. As I turned to the left, to examine my surroundings, we came face to face with the grossest, most hideous creature we had ever seen.…

What I believed to be the cold dead hands of the grim reaper plucked me off the ground and dragged me up the hill. A light much brighter than a million suns filled my eyes, and I heard someone with a formal voice call my name. To keep the light out of my eyes I kept them close passing back out and waking up when the carriage I was in ran over a rock in the middle of the dirt road. Samuel and Julia were siting across from me or at least I thought I saw them until Julia blew a cloud of green specks that sparkled like stairs into my face. The specks traveled up my nose and down my throat causing me to fall back to sleep.…

Unfortunately for me, it couldn't get any worse, since being an African American female who unfortunately does not fit your typical, "angry black woman." Yes, that "angry black woman", bitter, closed-off, unarticulated, with serious father issues.…
