Narrative Essay

When I was a little girl I wanted to do a little of everything. I wanted to do some form of Martial Arts. All the excitement that comes with it thrilled me. My parents didn’t let me though because I would always change what I wanted to do like kids always do. One day I would want to do dance the next cheerleading, another day I would want to do gymnastics, then ice skating, and sports. Though through all those years martial arts stayed in mind, to keep me busy I did all the sports at the rec center I possibly could.
On August 25th I decided to go to taekwondo before trying out for the school play. After we stretched and did warm ups it was time to practice and learn a variety of kicks. One type of kick is the jumping air kicks,

I was still in excruciating pain While we waited people came and went seeing me cry in the waiting room.

“Allison Palmer?” asked a nurse. My parents stood up and wheeled me behind the nurse. She asked me all the routine questions and told us the doctor will be right in shortly.
The doctor brought in a machine to x-ray my leg. He examined my leg and told me to push his hand down like a pedal, but I couldn’t. He then x-rayed my leg and left to get the results.
“You sprained and strained your ankle and sprained part of your shin. You didn’t tear anything and you didn’t break anything but you will leave with a boot and crutches.” addressed the doctor as I did a little smile. I was so excited I didn’t need surgery.
He talked to me about how taekwondo was going when he yanked my ankle into the correct position to be put in the boot. It hurt so bad that I couldn’t let a scream out. He then gave me something for the pain.
“I have never seen this bad of a sprain and strain in one ankle” commented the doctor. “It's a wicked sprain. So when your friends ask you can say that. How bout

The doctor left and the nurse came back with some crutches.
“I am going to have you walk in the hall to get a hang of them and then you will be good to go.” told the nurse. I did some practice while my dad moved the car to the exit door. While coming out I tripped on the carpet but saved myself from falling and further hurting myself more.
When I got home My brother’s were all waiting for me. My brother, Jordan, opened the door so I could go in but ended up carrying me to the couch and told me I took too long.
I learned you should never go to a taekwondo class before trying out for the school play. One has to choose what is more important than the other. When I was a little girl I wanted to do a little of everything but that does not mean I wanted to be in the emergency room on August
