My most effective piece of writing happens to be my illustrative essay titled “The Impact of Preschool Teachers.” To get this essay started I started out with a brainstorming list of listing all the possible careers I want do once I graduate from Alexandria Technical and Community College. I picked a preschool teacher for the career. I then brainstormed a list of all the duties a preschool teacher does throughout their day. After I finished brainstorming, I looked up action verbs that went along with tasks of being a preschool teacher. After I got done looking for action verbs, I came up with a topic sentence about what my essay topic going to be about. Then, I started a brainstorming list and put down four topic sentences that a preschool teacher does on the left side. On the right side I listed examples that went with the topic sentence. Then, I restated my thesis statement at the bottom on the brainstorming chart. After I got done brainstorming, I transferred my ideas to a planning chart. From …show more content…

I noticed I made improvements from my rough drafts to my final drafts. We acknowledged each others work and gave positive feedback to help everyone improve their

Having extra ideas allowed for me to have lots to discuss and for me to have enough options that I could pick what applied to my argument the best. I also found it very helpful to write a rough draft of my essay, and then leave it for a few days. Then when I was ready to work on my essay again I was looking at it with a renewed perspective that permitted me to catch more errors than I likely would have been able to had I not taken a break from writing. Once I had my essay to a point where I was relatively happy with it, I had someone read it to proofread it. Which also helped tremendously, they were able to tell me to look at certain parts of my essay that I needed to reword so it became clearer to the reader.…

I knew going into the class that it would include writing several papers, but I have enjoyed writing since I was younger; however, some of the writings are more difficult than others. For example, I seem to struggle with synthesis writings, whereas I tend to do well on argumentative writings. I felt a little discouraged and agitated at times, but my confidence has grown because I did better than I thought…
