Mr. Richards came out of the kitchen to greet his officially new family. He had married Carrie a month ago and decided that she move in with them. They settled in to eat dinner and then everyone helped move in.
“And this, will be your new room,” Mr. Richards said to Janice.

A few weeks passed by and the homecoming dance was around the corner. Sarah did not think she would get asked and Janice was frantically waiting for someone to ask her. She would come home everyday yelling mean comments about how other girls who were “ugly” had been asked and she still had no date. Throughout the rest of that day Janice flirted with Brock about as much as anyone could. Everyone in the school thought Brock was going to ask Janice the next day. When Sarah arrived at home she cried into her pillow. She blew her chance with Brock and she knew it. When janice came home she seemed as happy as a clam. She went into Sarah and her room and looked at Sarah and said, “I guess it’s too bad. You’ll always have next year!”
Sara depressingly replied with
“There is no next year for me Janice,”

Sarah was mad. Sarah was really mad. Janice took Brock from her and did not seem fazed at all. Sarah didn’t think that anyone could be so harsh as to not care at all.
