Men’s and Women’s Tennis game against the Eagles To gain entrance into the athletic training program I am required to attend four different games while assisting and being supervised by an athletic trainer. The athletic trainer for last Thursday’s tennis game was Samantha or simply called Sam. I arrived at 2:15pm for the game which started at 3:30pm. When I arrived I went straight to the shack and saw that Sam was going to fill six Gatorade containers, 5 with water 1 with Gatorade. Sam instructed me to fill all of the containers and one cooler with ice ¾ full. I tried to fill up the containers as quickly as I could with ice then placed them on our gator. After we filled up the containers with water from our garden hose and mixed up some Gatorade into the last we hopped in the gator but could not get the gator to start. One life lesson I have learned from my time at PBA is that if it aint Baroque don’t fix it!! …show more content…
This would not off have been a problem but I did not receive this information in till 7:45am while I was still enjoying some heavenly sleep. Now even though I had an hour and a quarter to till game time because I was also assigned to an athletic trainer I was expected to arrive by 8:15. If you figure that my abode is 40 minutes away, and the minimal time needed to have a proper meal and maintain stellar hygiene it becomes clear that I would not arrive when expected. This is perfectly fine because instead of being late everyone else was simply early, and because I arrive precisely which was 8:45 on that fine Sabbath morning not 8:15am. This timed arrival beneficial in two ways: 1 I did good by sleeping in because it is downright lousy to wake up early on either of the Lord’s day’s (Sabbath and Christ’s resurrection), and 2 everyone else did all the work that would have been burdened on myself if I had arrived early than I meant

The game of golf is almost more mental than it is physical. Having the ability to control one’s thoughts and emotions can turn good players into great ones. Many players learn how to play the game physically, but cannot ever make a leap towards better golf due to their actions and thoughts on the course. When playing bad, all it may take is a change in mindset or attitude to get one back on track. Sometimes it’s a little change in swing thought that will turn one’s round around.…

Women can be strong and beautiful without having to be sexualized by the media. Should women show a little skin to promote a brand or themselves and their sport? Although this paper is about women and the things they go through to remain thin, I have to say that men have been sexualized as well. Sports players such as Derek Jeter, David Beckam, and Rafael Nadal have all been part of the pretty boys in sports image. With respect to Wimbleton female tennis players have been playing in small colorful outfits that make them stand out in the courts.…

In sport today I believe women are treated in an unfair way to their male counterparts. Sport is controlled by the media in this century and women are looked at as sexual objects rather than for their talent like men are. The women are also then expected to wear skimpy clothing not because it’s better for the sport but because of marketing. Professional female athletes are seen as inferior to their male counterparts and therefore don’t get as much media coverage. Women athletes play the exact same games, train equally as hard, yet are still getting paid a large amount less than men.…

At the time, I didn't see what was going to unfold, but I had a bad feeling about what was to come.…

Gordon B. Hinckley had once said something along the lines of hard work paying off, if effort is enforced into the work. Over the years I’ve had in high school I have really absorbed the aspect of this, being able to work up and achieve opportunities for the preparation in the outside world. Seventh and eighth grade having to understand the concepts in the athletic sport tennis was hard for me to comprehend. Actually being able to have proper etiquette of holding a tennis racquet was key, but being able to hit a tennis ball was a ‘whole other ball game.’ All two years of playing tennis in middle school I can not remember a single time me nor my tennis partner won a match.…
