Narrative Essay On Watch Mean Girls

“Harry Potter? What are you, in the fifth grade?” Rachel scoffed. “I was thinking we should go hang out at my house and order pizza. Watch Mean Girls or something.”

“That's a good idea,” Michelle muttered timidly, but the girls were already turned away, caught up again in their own conversation.

Who in their right mind would choose to watch Mean Girls over Harry Potter? For a moment, Michelle wished that Gaby and Iris were here. They’ve been planning on going together on the day of its release, which was tomorrow, for months, dressing up in costumes and then going out to eat and discuss the obvious dilemma of whether Snape is a good person. Michelle wasn’t that much of a fan of the books, but she couldn’t deny that it sounded awesome.

She caught a glimpse of the hurt expression on Iris’s face, and for a second, felt guilty. But she knew she had a decision to make, and the answer was obvious. There was no way she would choose her old friends over new, better ones. Without another word, she walked away, leaving Iris behind her, alone and confused.

The next day, Michelle took hours getting ready. She straightened her hair, put on her newest pair of ripped skinny jeans, and put on shiny pink lip gloss. Her mother drove her to Rachel’s house, and as she approached the door to knock, she felt a pang of guilt. But when Rachel opened the door and greeted her with a tight hug, any hesitation Michelle had left disappeared and was replaced by anticipation.

“Come on up,” Rachel said, shutting the door behind the Michelle. “Sammi and Alyssa are already here.”

Michelle bounded up the stairs two steps at a time and walked into Rachel’s bedroom. The other girls waved in greeting, already sitting on the floor with a giant bowl of popcorn between them. Rachel followed Michelle in and shut the door, and Sammi turned the movie

What Exactly Is The DACA Program All About? A percentage of children were brought to the U.S by their parents to provide a better life than what they were living in their own country. It was a very cold but normal December day, everyone in town was doing what they usually do, take kids to school, go to work, get coffee and visit one another. Henry Dunkin was an ordinary 13 year old boy who was tall with dark brown hair and blue eyes. He was very liked by the citizens in the town so you wouldn’t expect anyone to harm him, right? Two weeks ago on a Tuesday, this was a day like any other, the sun was shining and there was a chilly breeze just off the east coast. In the bakery up town, Henry was getting breakfast before school just like he always does.…

Over the years, social critique has developed due to the fact that females do not have enough equality nor power. Female empowerment has become so universal that it has become sort of a pop culture phenomenon. It is the root for all the other branches that come with it like body-shaming, acceptance and bullying. The comedic movie Mean Girls was released about 13 years ago; however, many themes are still present in today’s society, especially its accurate description of high school. Mean Girls dives right into a world of female social dynamics.…

In this assignment I will discuss conflict theory and functionalism using the movie Mean Girls. Karl Marx states that class conflict is the struggle between capitalist and workers, and Mean Girls gives an example of that struggle. The way society is structured, the higher class has all the power and the lower class is continually taken advantage of. Even in high school there is hierarchy and I will discuss the effects of the lower class students and the culture shock of change, the desire to rise to the elite bourgeoisie class and the functionalist perspective.…

My midnight black eight-year-old eyes stare intently at the tall man standing in front of me. He wears a purple and yellow striped shirt, a very unflattering color combination, with thick sand-tan cargo shorts, and piled on top of his head is a massive brown afro. Who is that? I wonder as I clasp my sister’s sweaty chubby hand tighter. The man steps aside to reveal a big banner on the doorway.…

When someone blurts out the word “high school”, what’s your first initial thought? I don’t know about you, but “cliques” are the first thought to my mind. The media is drowning in films that portray the idea of “cliques”, but personally, I believe the film Mean Girls is the best representation of the world of cliques. Means Girls is a teen classic, and I can almost bet the majority of my generation has seen or at least heard of it. It is American teen comedy film that manifests the harsh conditions teens undergo when it comes to high school cliques.…
