In Aura, South Dakota there’s not a whole lot to do. Being a ranching community, the adults ranch and drink coffee and the teenagers of Aura drive around playing vehicle tag and have a good time when they’re not helping out on the family ranch. The adults, who played vehicle tag in their younger years, had an idea of what was going on but turned the other way because there was no other entertainment in the little town.
Tyler, one of the adolescents that played the game of tag regularly, was also a car genius. If you had something wrong with your vehicle, Tyler could take care of it at a low cost. It was no surprise that he was going to further his education as a mechanic. Tyler’s best friend, Colby, was also going to be a mechanic. The duo had rigged their pickups to be the most durable while driving at high speeds, which was a must for their nightly game of tag with the rest of their crew.
Kristy, Tyler’s longtime sweetheart, yelled up the stairs, “Tyler! Everyone’s heading to the field to play! We’re gonna be it if we don’t head down there soon!”

Laughing, she turned around and said, “Only if you're driving doesn’t kill me first.”
Shaking his head, he realized she was right. He long forgot about it as they started the drive to the field where they usually play their dangerous game of road tag. As he was pulling up to the highway, Tyler’s friend Colby drove by in his pickup. Seeing that Tyler was directly behind him, he flashed his lights twice, letting Tyler know that he wanted to race.
