I did this by accounting for 20 touchbacks, 11 extra points, and 3 field goals with one a long of 43 yards. Doing this led to me being titled 1st Team All-West Michigan. Along with the title 1st Team All-West Michigan, I was nominated as Muskegon’s Offense Dream Team. I’ve heard countless times “you’re just a kicker, your job is easy”. People who tell me this think they can easily achieve the same success that I have taken years and practice to obtain. The truth is, there’s more than just kicking the ball. It takes time, to get to where I have gotten. I’ve endured pain, hard work, and I have even overcome obstacles to get where I am today. Once I’ve achieved one goal there will always be a goal up ahead waiting for me to conquer. Along the way, I have run into people who have told me that I should just give up because I don’t have a chance at playing college football. Well, I say who are they to tell me what I’m capable and not capable

He was one of nine kickers who made half or more of his kicks when kicking the ball further than 40 yards. Distance is one thing to consider, but there are also other conditions that play roles: was the game played inside or outside, if it was played outside, what was the weather like and what was the wind speed, were the kicker’s snapper and holder on the mark, was his line of defense keeping blockers away? Everyone knows that distance…

Eight-eighty-seven seventy-one,” Coach Morris said to me. “Look for the outside receivers and tell them to get out of bounds to stop the clock. I had dreamed of being on the team from the very first day I heard about it; all of my friends were trying out with me; and we had grand plans for a year of non-contact, semi-athletic exertion ahead of us. Having been anxiously awaiting the lunch period when the team roster would be revealed, I was thusly dismayed, disappointed, and disheartened when my name was not one of the eighteen posted on the PE office door. My mother, in all her eternal wisdom, saw a way out of the pit of despair I had sunk into: Lusher was starting an Academic Games team, and she thought I might enjoy playing. I was more than somewhat hesitant; she was more than somewhat…

I was 10 years old, playing in my third season of football, and my first ever game under the bright lights surrounding the high school stadium.
