Personal Narrative On My 12-Day Cruise

Improved Essays
It was day 9 of the 12-day cruise. Sitting with my family at the dinner table, I interrupted the conversation and asked if I could be excused so I could go see some friends that I had met on our cruise. I got the go ahead and the time I had to be back in the cabin that night. After the ride, which felt like an eternity, the doors finally opened to our floor. I walked into the cabin and saw my mom and brother balling their eyes out. “Jesus Christ Brie, why did you do this to us,” my brother said as he was wiping the tears from his face. Next thing I knew, my mom was hugging me uncomfortably tight kissing my forehead. I could feel her heart racing against my chest. “Brianna we all thought you something happened to you and we were wondering why you wouldn’t even call us or try to find us at least,” she said. My dad abruptly came into the room and tells my mom that’s he’s about to have a heart attack. “Holy shit this is getting out of hand,” I thought to myself. My mom quickly gives him two Ativan’s to calm him down.
My leg jolts and I quickly rise up. I look to my left and see my mom’s pillow moistened with her tears. My heart sunk to the pit of my stomach and all I could feel was remorse. I was hoping to wake up from another lucid dream, but this was my reality. I turned to my mom and said, “I regret

It was June 10th, 2015, my mother and I were in our large southern Indiana home on the Ohio River, the weather was sweltering and it was unbearable to set foot outside without sweating. The maid had just arrived at the house and went to get me another lemonade just like she has done every other hot summer day for years. As I throw back my third glass of lemonade on the porch swing, I hear my mother talking to her friend on the phone about our trip to New York City. “Yes Laquisha, I have to take Nova! Parker won’t watch her, he’s too busy with Rachel to watch his own daughter…” whispered my mother in her iPhone.…
