Narrative Essay On Superdome

It was a gorgeous, bright Sunday morning in September. I woke up with excitement knowing that I was going to witness the Saints play against the Atlanta Falcons at the Superdome. It had been five years since I had gone to a football game. For Saints fans, New Orleans versus Atlanta was an important one. Not only was I excited, I was very nervous. I received the invite through a text the night before from a guy named Eddie. Knowing he was in a two year “on and off” relationship, my first thought was, “Oh, his girlfriend and he must have broken up.” Although the invitation was friendly, I could not help but to believe that he was just trying to use me. My trust issues have led me to be negative towards men. But I decided to give him the benefit …show more content…
He texted me letting me know he was outside. I opened my front door and I saw a jacked up F250 on thirty-five inch tires with dark tinted windows. All I saw was the outline of him as I walked closer to the truck. All these feelings of excitement and anxiety were combining all together as I reached the passenger door. I felt as if I was a shaken up bottle of coke that was waiting to explode. My final thought before I entered was to stay cool. I opened the door and awkwardly climbed into his lifted truck. He was as handsome as I remembered him to be. His eyes reminded me of gorgeous ice blue sapphires. His smile made me uncontrollably smile. He wore his hat low, giving him a mysterious touch. We greeted each other with a “hello” along with an awkward hug. As I sat back in the seat, the first song he played was Kashmir by Led Zeppelin. I instantly became excited. Before I could even think about what I was going to say, I blurted out, “Oh my God! How did you know?!”

“How do I know what?”
I suddenly realized he had absolutely no idea that I loved that song. I stared at him for a moment trying to think how I can explain myself.
“I’m so sorry! For some reason I thought you knew that I loved Led Zeppelin, but you had no clue.”
With a smirk on his face, he replied, “You know, other people can like Led Zeppelin

On April 24th 1992, I met a woman at a hospital in Los Angeles. The woman was sweet, loving, and smelt like Dior Dune perfume. Once I was cleared by the doctors, the woman took me to her apartment. When we arrived, I heard kids laughing as they splashed each other in the pool, and saw a group of older guys wearing bright red t-shirts with red shoe laces. I watched for a minute, absorbing everything in like a sponge.…

We were so far from the field you could barely see the players and what they were doing without binoculars. It was so loud you could not even hear the announcer and it was so bright you could not see the jumbo tron because of the sun's glare. It was fun nonetheless because there was so much energy from to the amazing game, but in the end the panthers won and I was sad…

As the sun plummets to its end on a Friday evening, in a small town just north of the capital of Texas. Businesses become calm and streets become lifeless, as an entire community packs into a stadium anxious to see their team go into battle versus that week’s opponent. As a four year old I wasn’t able to realize that I was witnessing the greatest football team to ever come through Burnet High School, as they demolished every team that was brave enough to step in front of them week after week.…

One ritual my family experiences is having an early Thanksgiving dinner and watching the Dallas Cowboys game. The tradition starts late on the night before thanksgiving. We start by ordering pizza, and then we begin prepping dinner for Thanksgiving Day. My sister and I prepare the side dishes, while my mother, aunt and grandmother make all the main dishes and desserts. We usually stay up all night finishing dinner prep, watching television, and cracking jokes.…

Looking back three hazed years, I wouldn’t have believed anything that happened to me today; everything I’ve been and still am going through wouldn’t make sense. If you told me three years ago that I would lose one of my best friends who was practically my sister all because of a boy, I would have laughed hysterically in your face and claim that you lost your sanity; that’s just how closely bonded by a glue of memories and words held us together. I went from not having a single idea of who the guy was that ruined my friendship, to finally actually talking and bonding with him ever since he started to basically date my best friend, but sometimes I wished that never happened. The first year of what seemed a dreadful yet exciting high school…
