It was January 20th, 2015. 8:00pm. (AKA my birthday). We were in the middle of having cake. And as in we, I mean my Mom, Danny, Zio, Nonna, and Nonno. As we were enjoying our strawberry cake, we were discussing if we should drive to Arizona or not. The only reason we were thinking about going is because, well, Danny’s mom had just passed away and my Nonna Angie (his mom), and Nonno Vito (his dad) had a house out in Surprise, Arizona. We would really only go to kind of help clean it out because my Nonno Vito was going to sell it eventually. So, just because it was my birthday, didn’t really have to do too much with the decision. After a while, we went to the car place and we had to wait there forever. Well, at least that’s what it felt like. Most of the time while I was waiting, I just sat around talked with my Mom and Nonna, did cartwheels ( which I got in trouble for doing because it wasn’t “appropriate” to do). But I mean, what else when you supposed to do when ur a 9 year old sitting in a car place for hours with a phone that was almost dead? After a little while, they told us we needed to buy a new rim and tire. I honestly didn’t think it was that bad. But, it was. Finally, after waiting, we got our of there. When we got done, we drove to a gas station so we could go to the bathroom and so some of them could smoke. When everyone was outside, I was in the car. Waiting. Again. They were talking about how they thought the best idea was to go home. I totally disagreed. After we had come so far we couldn’t just give up. We were more than ⅔ of the way there. When I heard them talking, I rolled down the window and stated my opinion. They didn’t really care for what I had to say at this point.
