Hundreds of years ago before softball was invented, there was a boy named Eugene and a girl named Jenny. Eugene asked Jenny one day for help. Eugene told Jenny that he wanted to come up with a game they could play. They both met up at a field in Cleveland, Ohio. Eugene was a troublemaker when he wasn't in school so he wanted to create a game that could keep him and other kids out of trouble. Eugene showed Jenny what he wanted to do and how he wanted the game to be played. This is how the game would be played. You would hit the white square box with a stick and run around the bases why the other team tries to get you out. Jenny tried it but got very frustrated because the box wouldn't go as far as she wanted it to. Eugene tried and it went just a little farther than Jenny. He told Jenny it was because she was a girl and girls can't hit far like guys. Jeeny then yelled at Eugene and told him his game was horrible and he needs to figure out something else …show more content…
He figured out the medium sized bat made it go the furthest. Jenny was at home upset because the fight her and Eugene had earlier. She was sitting outside eating an orange and thought to herself “how far would this orange go” so she took a stick and hit the orange with it and it went so far. She ran straight to Eugene's house, as soon as she got there they both apologized to each other and went back to the field. When they got there all they could smell was the fresh cut grass. Jenny said that they should change the color of the ball to yellow so she could see it better. She also said they need to mold the cube into a ball so it can go far. Eugene did exactly what Jenny said to do. Eugene told Jenny that if they use the medium sized bat it will make it go the farthest.
