Narrative Essay On Rec Soccer

At a young age I had goals to achieve. One of my many goals was to become a better soccer player. That is still my goal 9 years later. I started playing when I was 4 and from then on I gained experience. I played Rec soccer for so long but my goal was to play competitive soccer where I could actually play with competitive players and a competitive game. That all happened one day when I least expected it. When I first moved here Rec soccer seemed fitting for me because I wasn’t quite ready to play competitive and I didn’t even think they really had competitive around Hilton Head. I played Rec soccer for about a year, it just wasn’t exciting for me anymore. There weren’t really any opposing players. My dream was to become a better soccer player and Rec soccer wasn’t fulfilling that. I did once enjoy it but it just wasn’t enjoyable anymore because I really wanted to become better and have more skill. I went searching for something else until I stumbled upon Storm. My dad read the email and his face didn’t give anything away so step by step I walked over and read the email. “Congratulations Ava Cleveland, you made the 02/03 Blue Team”, I was so excited! Accountability, unity, and intentionality are fundamental elements of a successful team. All three of these elements are interdependent on each other, yet are significant on their own. For these elements to work, each member of a team must depend on each other’s contribution, but not rely on one member to do all the work. As well, an intentional goal must be set for all members to unify the same mentality. In my own experience with the Buckeye Twirl baton team, we fail to perform as a team and work as individuals.…

We Have To Do Students in Anaheim have a worse chance of graduating compared to kids who go to KIPP who spend way more time doing school work and homework till very late. According to Gladwell in “Marita’s Bargain”, “just over ten years into existence KIPP became one of the most desirable schools in New york city” (4).There's a reason for the success of KIPP in this story we analyzed, the children succeed because they come from tough backgrounds but are given the opportunity to succeed by testing their work ethic and passion to succeed in an experimental school. Also, Gladwell meant was, “Schools work. The problem for the schools, for the students there isn't enough of it”(10). The work that our Anaheim schools give us isn't the easiest…

The sport in its entirety is what I came to love. So, I’m still following a soccer-centric path as much as possible. Along the way, I guess my passion wasn’t seen by only me, later giving me the opportunity to become my school’s varsity team’s videographer, something I’ll never be able to fully express my gratitude for. It’s gotten to the point where bringing up the sport to friends is just verbal diarrhea for them. Yet, they’ve never gotten fed up, and that’s just it.…
