Narrative Essay On Prom Night

Decent Essays
My story begins on May 10th, 2008, in a hotel room located off of highway 35 in San Antonio, Texas. I am currently 17 years old and it is prom night. Of course you’re wondering what I am doing in a hotel on prom night instead of being at actual prom, well unfortunately I was banned from prom because I had been expelled the previous week for getting into a fight, but that’s another story. This is a story about the one of my best nights turning into my worst days of my life. So it is Friday night and the party has just begun. We have all the great makings of a great High School party, music, refreshments, cigars, and girls. The only thing that was missing was my best friend taking his sweet time to get there. Soon I would forget that he was …show more content…
So the first thing that was on my mind is trying to figure out who this was and how I could get here away from this guy that she came with. So I pulled my sister to the side and asked her if she knew who she was unfortunately my sister had no clue. So I just fell back for a while now, at this time the party has really started to come together and more people start to show up. My boy Jarvis finally showed up with more cigars so I stepped outside to smoke with him and tell him about this girl I had been eyeing all night. When we went back inside the party I noticed that the guy she came with was dancing with another female while she was sitting at the spades table looking all lonely so I knew it was my chance to pull up on her. So I told my sister to let me take her spot on the table so I could talk to her and she said “bet”. …show more content…
So eventually I got her to warm up to me and I asked her name she said “Brittney” with a smile on her face. I didn’t waste any time, so I asked her “who’s that guy that you came with?” She said who “Levi”. I said “yeah, who’s that”? She said “oh that’s just my brother and as you can see he’s not paying me any attention to me right now”. As she said that I glanced over at Levi getting a lap dance from the girl he was dancing with earlier and he chunked me the deuce with a smile on his face. So after they got tired of my partner and I running the spades table, I asked her if she wanted to go to the room so we could talk since the party was so loud. She was kind of hesitant and asked what about her brother. I looked over and didn’t see him anymore so I automatically assumed that he had made his way downstairs to the other room with his new friend. So about five minutes go by of us being in the room talking, my sister bust into the room yelling “bro get dressed Jasmine coming upstairs now hurry up”. At this point you’re probably wondering who Jasmine is well at the time this is my girlfriend who is already upset that I wasn’t able to go to prom with her due to my

The hardest thing I’ve ever went through? Let me take you back to almost three years ago to a very cold Thursday morning in January. I was sitting in history class when suddenly something very strange happened; the announcement speakers came on. To most people it would seem like it was a very typical day to day event to listen to announcements; but at my school announcements were rarely ever said. My classroom got completely silent; to the point where you could have heard a pin drop.…

It was a typical Friday night, in the spring of 2003, my mom had just dropped me off at the gas station so I could go over to my dads. After I got in my dads truck we drove over to his friends house where we would stay till late hours into the night. I tried to stay up as late as I could so my dad would not leave me at this stranger’s house, but inevitably as the second grader that I was I couldn’t compete with the older men when it came to who could stay up the latest. Needless to say I woke up on a couch, in a house I’d never been to. I started crying and frantically looked for a phone, so that I could call my dad.…

Exhilarating: a term making one feel very happy, animated, or elated, would be the perfect word to describe what the day had in store for us eager, and jubilant grade 6 students. A thrilled and luminous smile lit up on my enthusiastic face as I ambled on the same rugged, cracked, gray tinted sidewalk that I had sauntered on everyday for a year. The serene, endless sky was the perfect shade of aqua as the light, silky, radiant clouds formed delicate shapes. The sun was glistening with great luminosity. Suddenly I heard someone screaming my name well not really; it was my nickname, one that really agitated me in an incredibly obnoxious way, “Babikathu wait up”.…

As a teenager I have never thought about what the hardest, or best part of being a teen has been, I usually just live with it because it is my life and it is everyday. Sitting here, thinking about it, being a teen is one of the hardest stages of life, but it's also one of the best. I would say it's hard because you are expected to act like an adult, all emotions are everywhere and everything you do as a teen defines you as an adult. It could be the best because your not treated like a baby no more, people trust you to make the right decision and you get more freedom. Even though it can be a hard time i would say that you always have people around you who will always be there for you, they will always have your back.…

Graduation was a time to celebrate my achievements, to celebrate growing up and maturing into adulthood, to celebrate my friends and family that guided me along the way, and most importantly to celebrate one chapter coming to an end, and another one just beginning. The night before graduation I could hardly sleep as I knew that my high school career would soon be over. I got up that next morning, took a shower, put my makeup on, straightened my hair, and put my favorite black dress on, only this time I had my chords, cap, and gown to go with it.…
