I was on the track team; our team was headed to the next city right outside Seattle for our track meet. A car came from out of nowhere; somehow lost control and found its way wedged under the left side front bumper of the bus. Nevertheless, we did not compete that day. Everyone on the bus had to be checked out by the school’s doctor, Dr. Norris before being released. During my examination, Dr. Norris checked my eyes by shining a pen light to test my pupil’s reaction to the light and their response time, checked my head for bruising or bleeding, neck for rotation issues, arms, legs and feet for mobility, flexibility, contusion and scrapes. As he is performing the examination he asked me what happened. I told him that I had my eyes closed, then the next thing I knew I was jerked forward and hit my forehead on the back of the seat in front of me. Norris said about me being pregnant. Virgil took me to Planned Parenthood to make sure Dr. Norris assumption was correct. I had not missed any of my cycles and we had not gone all the way in the year we had been together. To my surprise my diagnosis was one-week shy of being six months pregnant! My stomach was flat with abs, monthly menstrual on time every month, eating habits did not change, no weird food notions, no morning sickness, and no breast soreness, nothing unusual at all. I had been training doing push-ups, sit ups and running everyday on the track. I was trying to think if there was any indication or symptoms that my body was going through this transformation without any signs of pregnancy. I thought to myself I couldn’t be pregnant, you have to have sex. I haven’t had sex all the way. I started to go through with it; until it hurt then I changed my mind about having sex, decided to wait until we were
