It was March 28 and as usual my 15 year old self was hiking on the (self made) trail behind my house, with my bestfriend. The woods were like my second home and I was there almost everyday. After school each day I would abandon my homework to make new branches off of what I called Pine Tree Trail. (Note: I never had anything higher than a B- besides art which I currently had a 94 in!) The air felt warm and the songs of birds filled the atmosphere with joy. That's The reason I was always there. Well that and the fact I had 3, well 4, (Charlotte always stayed in her room on her phone) annoying siblings. Nora and Lillian are twins and were 12 at the time and Carter was 3. They would ask me to drive them around and it got on my last nerve. My family was well off on money (I have no idea how) so I drove a black matte Jeep. Our house was three stories with a basement and my attic room. My mom would push me to have friends over and my dad would say “ Amelia, honey, Harper can do whatever she wants.” My dad was awesome. She loved the outdoors and was constantly reading. She was quiet and sweet. I guess you could say she was a modern day Snow White. She tried to come over whenever she could but it was hard since she played tennis, oboe, and had to babysit her little sister, Evelyn. I don't think my parents liked her much. They tried to make up excuses for us not to have sleepovers like, “ We are going to mima’s at 6, sorry!” (They were never mean to her but they didn't like her sleeping over.)
