Personal Narrative: Wautoma's Life

Superior Essays
Here I am in good old Wautoma lifes great, I got nice grades nothing wrong and spending the weekend with my two best friend Bob and Jim on a Saturday home alone no less. Were at my my house like always.
Bob says something weird, “how about let 's watch a movie with murders.” That’s weird because Bob hates scary movies. So Jim and I agree and say sure, we don 't mind them. The movie was about a teen that thought that everyone was the devil. During the whole movie Bob was hoping the murder will kill more which got me and Jim a little curious what was going on. After the movie I turned the movie off and we all went to sleep.
I was the first one up like always. I go upstairs to get a bowls of cereal for the guys. As I’m almost done I hear both of them getting up. I quick go to the bathroom and wash my hands. As I start to head down the stairs I hear a little horse play and Jim yelling, “Bob stop, stop, stop.” So I just thought he was tickling him to make him laugh.
Nope I was definitely wrong, Bob had Jim in a choke hold with a knife on his throat. Bob always was a little bit of a nut some times but nothing like this. Then I yelled at Bob “what do you think you are doing.” He firmly

I was thinking of saying some serious cruel words that are very inapropriate before I beat the poop out of him. But I just firmly said to him, “what do you think you 're doing here.” He responds with, “I’m here to get rid of the devil.” Opens up his jacket pulls out a snub nosed pistol and shoots me 3 times in the chest. My family comes running down stairs wondering what happened, but that was a bad choice because Bob shoots my wife Felicia first and then takes out some sort of steak knife and cuts both of my kids heads off like what he did to Jim. Let alone killing my kids he is also a cannibal and he ate my kids that night right before the police invaded his

Andre Dubus “The Killings” and Todd Fields In the Bedroom present the theme of grief, revenge and how a good person can commit an evil act; through the different uses of characters, plot, and tone. There are very subtle changes between the story and the film adaption, with some parts of the film quoting the story word for word. While the director keeps the film in very close likeness to the story, there are subtle changes we can compare and contrast. Beginning with the characters, right away the narrator in the story introduces the grieving family of Frank Fowler. Matt and Ruth, the parents, and siblings Steve and Cathleen.…

Finding a good horror movie is a lot like shucking oysters in search of a pearl; one must weed through disgusting and disappointing messes until a true treasure is discovered. Unfortunately, Scott Derrickson’s Sinister is more of a mess than it is a pearl. The film follows the life of washed-up horror writer Ellison Oswalt, who moves his family into a home where a grisly murder has taken place. Oswalt believes that writing a novel about the murders will help reboot his career. After discovering a series of home films depicting the murders of various families, Oswalt goes from horror writer to amateur sleuth as he tries to discover the mystery behind the shocking films.…

Hands clenched tight, clammy with sweat, eyes glued on the screen in disbelief as I begin to watch the red haired curly headed twin be eaten by a masked man in the uncanny visceral horror movie Dark Ride directed by Craig Singer set in New Jersey. This movie is about five friends, Cathy, Steve, Bill, Jim, Elizabeth and Jen, who while on a road trip take a slight detour to check out the infamous Dark Ride. A ride that has been closed for fourteen years became the blood dripping playground for the psychotic child man killer, fresh out the insane asylum who is back in the comfort of his precious ride. Although critics of this movie recommend seeking elsewhere to quench the burning craving thirst for horror, I think the horror film I chose to watch which is set in a glorious land for kids, became everything far from a great day riding rides and eating fried bread smothered in chocolate and powdered sugar. It has become common today for people to dismiss Stephen King’s immense contribution to the…

As a teen, watching scary movies with friends is exciting and fun. After the movie, my friends and I joke around trying to spook each other, or talk about how the movie was too scary to be real. Watching horror for fun is one of the reasons that Stephen King points out in “Why We Crave Horror”. Stephen King has pointed out as a human we crave horror to have some fun, get a feeling of normalcy, and to be able to face our fears. Humans crave horror for another way to have some fun.…

A metaphor to thoroughly interpret my own cultural identity would be the coconut delicacy known as Haupia. Not only for its elegant perplexion, but for the soft clouded stature that belongs to this alien creature, which taste is only permitted to the fortunate few occupying the native islands of Hawaii. Another perplex root in the tree of my culture is Lei-making. The breathtaking row of an aligned set of flowers to form the Lei is one of the prime connections to the base of the hawaiian culture by contributing to the ancient craft itself. A more well-known phenomenon that had one of its origins among the islands of Hawaii and is still dwelled upon to this day is surfing.…
