Noughts and Crosses
Oh diary, today was an awful day. I tough everything was going to be perfect now when Callum is going to Heathcroft with me, but it was horrible. I sat with Callum during lunch today, and I wish I hadn’t. All of the crosses scorn me, and they will make it terrible for Callum. I sat in the toilet cubicle during break time, and when the bell rang, Joannes gang crowded in and shoved me back in. They told me I couldn’t be a friend with any blanker, but I stood up for Callum and the other Noughts, when Lola and Dionne wasn’t ready I sprung up and gave Lola a fist. She folded over and I took advance of the element of surprise and tried to punch them as hard as I could, but after a little while, Jo and Lola was able to grab me

This time our civics teacher gave us an essay that would be handled in after the weekend. It isn’t often we get homework over the weekend, but this time was an exception, and everyone was stressed out and hurried home to finish their essays. It was Saturday and I was all but done, and I was very proud. On Saturday night, my friend would come over and we was going to have a sleepover. One important thing to this story is that I always write my assignments and essays on my typewriter, and my teacher have of course noticed it. When my friend and I had eaten our pizza, seen our movie, eaten some more and talked for hours, we decided to play some truth or dare. It was my turn and my friend, Jessica, had chosen dare. I thought about my essay, suddenly I got an idea and smiled. ‘What is it?’ Jessica looked at me ‘Sam, what is it? I know that smile on your face, can you tell me, please?’ I thought I had come up with the best dare idea ever, it was an idea a little bit dangerous, mostly for Jessica's grades and name, then for me, but as I saw it, a brilliant plan. ‘You are going to handle in my essay instead of your own, but I’ll still submit mine. You’re going to write your name on it, but not erase my name’ At first, Jessica just looked at my, she didn’t move her face at all, but after a second I got the reaction. She stood up as she threw one of my pillows on me ‘No, you’re kidding. I can’t do that!’ I smiled, this was a good idea. ‘Yes, you’ll. Come, lets go and make a copy on my essay. This is going to be great!’ We went to take a copy. Jessica didn’t like the idea, and made it very clear to me by bombard me with pillows and blankets the whole night. The next morning I woke up in a pile of throw pillows soaking wet. ‘JESSICA’ Jessica was standing over me pouring icing cold water all over me. ‘It felt like you

I glared at that dumb Colin Schwartzman, as his dumb eyes stared at the glowing computer screen. He was playing my favorite game, Clifford the Big Red Dog. My game! I had even told my parents to wake me up early the night before just so I could beat him to the computer. Colin looked up at me from the screen and said, “What are you looking at Blocky, you’ll never get the play this game so long as I’m here.”…

Bruises hurt. Growing up with the uncomfortable yellow-green of an old battle wound sustained from being an adventurous kid wasn't much of a surprise. The off-shade violet of a deep one, or the angry red of an underdeveloped one, on the other hand, is a more recent discovery. Receiving them daily has become a required hindrance when being chased by your neighbor's sex crazed Pit bull. I could have gotten a car to avoid him --my town is small and my mother never thought I needed one--…

Honestly, I am not a very motivated person. I tend to try hard in school for the sole purpose of receiving an A. I never had thought of learning as an activity, but rather a priority. A priority that exists once again, for the purpose of getting an A. In my head, if I received an A, I would feel secure and my life would be able to move along smoothly. Receive a B, and my whole world would stop. Sadly, it seemed almost impossible for me to receive even close to a B when it came to writing.…

I walked into the classroom of my last class of the day expecting to just take notes and listen to a lecture. Unfortunately for me, the teacher announced that we were going to write a timed essay based on a chapter of a book we were reading. This task did not seem challenging at first, and the thirty minutes we were given to write our essays seemed like plenty of time. Nonetheless, I still managed to turn what was supposed to…

Two dozen 18 year olds sat inside a warm smelly classroom at Marshall High School.
