Narrative Essay On Notre Dame

This is written from a perspective of someone who has never followed college football in their life, but someone who is also an avid temple fan and supporter, so just role with me folks.
Temple lost a tough one against Notre Dame Saturday night at Lincoln Financial Field, but the sixty plus thousand who were in attendance or the 5 million watching at home across the nation will be sure to remind the people who didn't see this David vs Goliath match-up that it was one for the ages.
Notre Dame was the favorite going into the game against Temple, but the Owls didn't back down at all. I don't follow college football by any means, but the atmosphere at the tailgate and stadium was ecstatic. Every Temple student in attendance Saturday night weren't

The tailgate ranged from kids who were 4 years old to teenagers and young adults and all the way to people aged 80. Roaming from tailgate to tailgate, everything stayed pretty mild mannered. I didn't witness any fights, but more so friendly banter back and fourth between the college students of Temple University to the old farts at Notre Dame.
There was plenty of alcohol to go around, and some tailgates even had a DJ booth set up. The tailgate I partook in was especially lit, seeing as how a sea of red was flooded with alcohol and drunken' shenanigans. Anyway, I'll get to the main point.
Game time was awesome. Waiting for the opening kickoff sent shivers down everyone's spine. The build up was enormous. The stadium was split 60/40. 60 percent Temple, 40 percent Notre Dame. I managed to lose my voice by halftime. Temple was tugging at m heart strings the entire game, but in a glorified way. It was awesome.
Unfortunately, Temple would end up losing the game. Even though they lost, it made Temple stronger. We showed that we are a tough school and not just a fluke. We played a lot better than everyone expected, beat the spread, and to us, it was still a win. Never have I've been more proud to call myself a Temple Owl. The city stays

For a team nicknamed the Ramblin’ Wreck, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets sure do live up to the mantra. That may not sure this season, but the Yellow Jackets have wrecked the Pitt Panthers in their last two meetings. Two seasons ago, quarterback Tom Savage was terrorized by a Tech defense that dominated the Panthers in a 21-10 stomping at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Last season’s matchup was marred by the worst first quarter in Pitt history. Five fumbles in consecutive drives doomed the Panthers as Tech raced out to a 28 to nothing lead. The Panthers would cut the lead to as close as 14, but the comeback could not be complete.…

In the article “At Ole Miss, the Tailgaters Never Lose” by William L. Hamilton, readers learn about the famous football-weekend parties at the Grove on the University of Mississippi. The article uses spatial organization because the writer focuses on the location and tailgating happening at one place. Hamilton also uses topical organization, moving from the past to present in different parts of the article. This helped the reader to understand more about the past of Ole Miss and how things became the way they are today. The author is a detached spectator in Ole Miss and did not participate in the story or tailgating.…

The Battle of The Bone Rivalry This past week the biggest rivalry football game of the year was played in Chino Hills. The game was between the Chino Hills Huskies and the Chino Hills Bulldogs; this is a rivalry that has been going on since the start of the schools. The nickname that was given to the big game was the “ Battle of the Bone.” This rivalry is a center piece to both schools, even after Chino Hills High School moved to a new sport division and could not compete against the Bulldogs in the actual football season; many people thought the rivalry would be dead. Likely the teams found a way to make the rivalry continue after the division changes.…

In a topic that is widely discussed on campus and seems like a no brainer to many has had a bunch of people working, wondering, and wishing. From 1897 to 1986 Wichita State University played competitive football at many different levels including the KCAC, CIAC, and our current conference of the Missouri Valley. Boasting a 375-402-47 record and 14 conference titles the Shockers were at best a sub-par team. Over history the Shocker football team endured some tough times and none were more wrenching than the plane crash in 1970. On October 2, half of the team was flying to a game in Logan, Utah against Utah State University from Denver, Colorado.…

Beginning in 1893, The Iron Bowl has been referred to as the biggest sports rivalry nationwide. Experiencing this first hand, I have seen this turn from a rivalry to an all out war. There is true hatred in this rivalry.…

After a dreadful attendance of only 21,000 for last year's spring game, Coach Jim McElwain and crew tried something different this year to boost attendance by hosting the game on a Friday night for the first time in history, and it paid off. As kickoff approached, University Ave was flooded with pedestrians in orange and blue apparel. Football was in the air, at least for a night, but that was good enough to bring together 46,000 fans and over 40 recruits into The Swamp to watch the Gators. Will Norris, a UF Student and a member of Phi Delta Theta, acknowledged he’s noticed a difference of the atmosphere on campus this year with the game being played on a Friday night, “Students are actually looking forward this year's game with Florida coming off their first SEC title since Tebow, plus, they don’t have to sit through a scorching noon game, and we get a first look at…
