My hands, shaking and sweaty, fumbled with the little flashlight as I tried in vain to turn it on. After fifteen long seconds, the thin stream of light pierced the darkness illuminating my script. All humans, with a few exceptions, harbor a deep resentment against public speaking. We fear being ridiculed by our peers and even our teachers. We will go out of our way to avoid it but in the end, instead of protecting ourselves we just hold ourselves back.
