Narrative Essay On Mumma

On Sunday, April the 3rd, my dad took my family to his good friend’s home in the countryside of Bibb county in Alabama. The family friend, whom we call Mumma, is an older lady who has been living in this small farmhouse since 1967. We drove through woods on an unconstructed road called Vanderslice road, which is named after her family. We pulled up in the driveway of this secluded house surrounded by tall trees and green grass all around.

We were welcomed by two enthusiastic four-year-old Shei Tzu dogs named Aussi and Ziki who came running to us as soon as we got out of our car. Two chickens and peanut the cat came later and we all walked towards Mumma’s front porch. As I walked in the green lush grass of her front yard, I noticed different types of plants that surrounded the front porch, which included Camellia, cactus, rose and lily. Then came Cali, a beautiful white cat with black and brown patches on her. Aussi and Ziki were still jumping around our legs. Mumma said the dogs aggravate the cats all the time. Then came around Suzi, who is an old, blind and deaf dog. She was slow in her movements and looked very peaceful. Mumma said that Suzi was a rabbit hunter when she was young.
Mumma then took us to show us around her farm. Alex the 27-year-old brown horse ran toward us as we approached his fence. We did not touch him because Mumma said he bites. There were two grey color old horses in a separate fence. There were a few caged dogs that barked loud at us. They were the rabbit hunters. There were around 15 chickens that all gathered behind a few plants as if they wanted to become invisible in the shadow of the plants. They did not come near us and were running away from us when we approached
