I experienced my first two jobs in Texas which awarded me the opportunity to be professional in the workplace, learn people skills and work at being the best that I could be for the companies, as well as for myself. I assumed the responsibilities of paying the household expenses and tending to the household chores. Another key factor was realizing the effort that an adult relationship requires, rather than the puppy love I had known back home during high school. I had little choice but to grow up quickly, but I wouldn’t have traded these experiences for anything in the world. I make a point to call on the birthdays and holidays to make sure everyone is doing well. Writing about this experience is merely a snapshot of the happenings during that period, but I am forever indebted to the individuals I worked with, lived with, and loved with during my time in Texas. I did an immense amount of growing up, in all aspects of my life. I fear if I had not made the leap to leave my home town those many years ago, I would not be the same person that I am today, and I feel as though all of the happenings of this situation was for the right reasons. To the people, to the environmental changes, to the added responsibilities, I thank you for making me the great person I am
