Three slender fingers held onto to the string she'd pulled back, all the tension focused in her back and shoulder as she brought the string back to the side of her mouth. The arrow pointed at the target and with a soft breath out she let it fly. A sly smile crossed her lips as the arrow hit the target with a satisfying thud. There was a theraphy to archery. Something about pulling the arrow back and letting go, it was like the problems inside you left with the arrow. Concentration was also key to being a good archer. Seeing where you want it to strike and making sure it hit true. She hung her bow in the usual place, then picked up her arrows and returned them to her quiver then hung beside her bow. Her hand tightened around Rose's. Rose had rough hands, cracked from pulling her string back so often. Rose couldn't stand sitting there anylonger. She pulled herself up and held up her hand when Scar started to follow. "I need a minute. I promise I'm okay. Go mingle" Scar, unlike Rose, was a social person. She only stayed close to Rose because she knew Rose wasn't as into meeting new people. Scar being at her side was always what had gotten her through everyday since she'd been in LA. For the first time in a long time she actually longed for her mother. Mary had left her daughter many years ago now to join the Iron Sisters. She'd abandoned Rose after a year of alchol and neglect. Kurt's death had been too much for Mary. Her first husband, Rose's biological father, had also died during a mission before Rose was even born. The image from that day conjured up in her mind unwelcome. Rose wasn't paying any attention, her mind was lost in the depths of her memory that she'd fought off for so long. Her mind was a very dark place to get lost
