Narrative Essay On Lord Of The Flies

I was wakened up by Sam and Eric today. They yelled and shouted at me they’ve seen the beast near the fire over the mountain. I was shocked by the message. I believe there should be no beast over the island. I stood helplessly, like a lost soul. The only thing in my mind was to call an assembly, talk about what should we do next with the other boys. The conclusion was, we are going to search for the beast. If there is really one, crush it with our well-armed javelins. Things that I worried about yesterday happened again. During the exploration, I left the team for a while for checking a cave. Once I get out, guess what I’ve seen. The other boys started fooling around, throwing rocks, forgetting the purpose of coming out and explore. I yelled at them but there is no use at all. Their desires have overtaken their heart obeying the order, being civilized. Sooner or after, they will be fully controlled by savagery. Is it because of me being a leader, neglecting my duty. Or it is because of this damn island. Being blocked by the ocean and it seems there is no hope of being rescued. No, what am I thinking? Simon is right, we will make our way home very soon. …show more content…
It sounds good to me. It is time for me to have some exercise and to learn a new skill. Having a new skill will never be a burden. Ha~ I am really a genius. I aimed the pig under one throw. Maybe I should try to hunt more in the upcoming days. The boys reacted our hunting scene with Robert as the pig. I reminded them this is only a game over and over again. Robert was still herded during the game. They were even thinking about doing stuff like this again. This is not cool, when savagery is under control, it can cause an impulsive

Lord of the Flies (LOTF) is an unusually violent coming-of-age novel written by William Golding, about a large group of british boys who are stranded on an island all by themselves after their plane is shot down, and are faced with the unthinkable. There are many theories as to what the core message of this novel truly is; some believe that LOTF is a metaphor for the horrors that Golding witnessed during his service in WWII(this is undoubtedly the most popular theory due to the total lack of girls); a declaration of nihilism; a metaphor for the garden of eden; or that it shows the true capacity for evil that lurks within the souls of men, and the rotting pig head represents our moral depravity. I, on the other hand believe the theory that all of the character are allegories (or symbols). Ralph and Piggy together are civilization, Piggy by himself is intelligence (he also represents rationalism, but we’ll get back to that) and his glasses are technology: when the boys steal Piggy’s glasses rather than…
