A hemangioma is a birthmark a bright red nodule of extra blood vessels. So my mom and I were in and out the hospital all the time together. Well my mom was sick I had to get surgery on my hemangioma at the ages of; 6, 9, & 13. We struggled for a certain amount of time. She had a tube that hung from her stomach for 9-10 years. That tube is what kept her going and my mom wanted to give up. I know she did but my brother, sister, and I were her motivation to stay strong. About 9 liters a night flowing through her stomach every night. I couldn't stand myself to be home and see my mother in pain. The one that took care of me even when she was sick. I thank my mom for that. I was just in a position that I knew I wasn't able to do anything but connect her to bags. That I knew it gave her pain even if they kept her alive and going. I had to make big steps, and do things more on my own as I got older. I had to be the one to support my little brother Ricky. It was hard at first because I was pretty busy myself. I wake up for school, I need to get my brother up, get to school try to keep my grades up. After school I would go to practice for 3 hours. If we were lucky we would sometimes practice for 2 hours. After practice I would have to go home clean the whole house before my mom got home.I would have to make dinner sometimes, when my mom couldn't. For awhile I didn't know how to work around this. Then I realized this is getting me prepared when I go to

Positive parent-child relationships provide the foundation for children’s learning and to maintain that parents should have a good understanding between them. “My Father’s Life” by Raymond Carver and “The Rake: A Few Scenes From My Childhood” by David Mamet both author’s briefly discussed their parent’s relationship with each other and with their children. As a result, I've excelled in my studies and my family continued to ridicule me because I loved being in school. My personality matured to an independent individual. Furthermore, I'd rather figure every single thing out on my own, since that's the way I've grown up. I've grown up, up to this point, without my father and my mother barely around from work. Yet, no matter what, I remain thankful that they attempted to become remotely involved.…

“Life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced.” This quote is penned by Soren Kierkegaard and has become one of the most influential examples that I lead my life by. Everyone has a story, whether a person’s story comes from overcoming adversity or facing their demons, it’s their story or their accomplishment; and mine is no different. When I was younger I was faced with one of the greatest challenges life has to offer, my mother passed away from cancer at the tender age of 41. Growing up, I never knew how to live without my mom; I didn’t know what I was supposed to do anymore.…
