Some were very creative and well done. One of them was West Coast University who had this little x-ray booth, where you could grab a stuffed bear, name it, and take the bear to get x rayed. They stated that they wanted to show kids that it wasn’t scary to go get an x-ray, and to not be afraid of the doctors. I thought that this was quite a brilliant idea. His answer surprised me, which was Obesity first, then followed by Diabetes, Both very bad for someone's health, especially for children. Kids eat lots of junk food, along with spicy foods like spicy Cheetos, Which helps increase obesity. This problem has begun with the parents and they need to take this issue very seriously. It is clear that there is a obesity epidemic in our country. We see it every day on the news, on television talk shows, even the first lady has taken a hand at spearheading the campaign particularly against childhood obesity and malnourishment, yet it is also clear that we as a country, as parents, siblings, extended family and communities are failing children at an alarming rate. The lecture “Children of the Corn Syrup” done at Del Mar College in Texas, by Dr. Stephen W. Ponder in 2009 gives a lot of insight into childhood obesity and in turn, the development of type 2 diabetes, some of which I will touch on in this paper in the SPUNKI format. The American obesity epidemic is a serious thing that should not be taken lightly. We need to find why we are getting so fat and then stop it. People have many different views on why we are becoming so fat but all reasons are contributing to Americans becoming obese and we should try to eliminate all of them. Some people believe that Americans are becoming more and more obese because of their own personal choices for the food they’re eating. But you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see that Americans are rapidly becoming more and more obese, and are fast food chains causing our nation’s obesity, food portions, not enough exercise, or because healthy food options are going up in price.…

Childhood obesity is increasing year of year. A study by The American Heart Association shows that obesity in children has more than tripled from 1971-2011. As Doctor Richard Jackson mentions on many occasions in our textbook, this is the first generation of children in which their parents are expected to live longer (Jackson, R. 2012). This is a trend we must work together to reverse. If we don’t, we could see one third of children developing diabetes in their life (learn the facts, n.d.).…
