Narrative Essay On Happy Thanksgiving

Improved Essays
Hey Pete! Happy Thanksgiving! I hope yours was great and filled with tons of food, if it wasn't then that's messed up and I'm sorry. Also, I texted you Happy Thanksgiving cause I'm an idiot, and you obviously did not receive that, so just a heads up. Anyways, Thanksgiving at the Holdredge house was pretty interesting this year. We had all of my grandparents over, along with my Uncle John and his family (my mom's brother). Throughout the dinner, I kept filling up my glass with a bottle of wine which I had hidden under the dining room table. Neither of my parents seemed to notice until the bottle was practically empty, and they did not enjoy the entertainment as much as my aunt did, she was losing her shit. My dad's mom kept reintroducing herself to family members …show more content…
I hate the game too, but bare with me. Imagine two drunk men who have started drinking at 9 am (one being my dad), who do not fully understand the concept of Wii, playing Just Dance. It's been riveting and completely life changing, I won $40 from my drunk uncle. I wish you were there, luckily I have my uncle and dad on video which we shall watch when you come home. By the way my dad says, "Hi Pete" and "Remember to duck". The best part of the night was when we made my grandmother (dad's mom) play the game with my mom. To fill you in, my grandmother has no rhythm, as a matter fact, she may quite possibly be tone deaf, and she hates my mother. So what really made this event special is that while my grandmother looks like a horse that's legs are stuck in 5ft of mud, my mom just fucking hits her. Got the whole thing on video too. My mom told me to tell you a bunch of shit that I do not remember so I'm just letting her send a separate letter. I apologize for whatever it is she says. Kimmy didn't say anything cause she's being a bitch right now, but I'm sure she would say hello and wish you good

It was Thanksgiving morning and I was pretty excited because I knew that day I was going to eat a lot of delicious food. I woke up that day to help my mom make some tamales that we always make when there’s some type of holiday. The whole house had that tamale smell once we were all done with them. A few hours past and it was almost time to go to my aunt's house where we were having our Thanksgiving dinner at.…

The Myth that the first Thanksgiving was held at Plymouth Rock is true. It was held in 1621 where the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag shared food. This food varied from turkey, waterfowl, venison, fish, lobster, clams, berries, fruit, pumpkin, and squash. This is why Thanksgiving is known for a time of sharing and peace. Thanksgiving being celebrated every year by Pilgrims, is a myth that is false.…

Have you ever noticed how in the stores you will see a plethora of Halloween costumes, decorations and the like but immediately following Halloween, you see Christmas themed decorations all over and very little to commemorate Thanksgiving? The most I've seen have had leaves and maybe a cornucopia and really only enough scattered throughout the store to fill a half to one whole aisle. It seems that our national holiday is only truly named and observed within "leaked" black friday ads, alerting you to when the advertised deals start. This never really bothered me in the past. As a little girl Thanksgiving was all about the Macy's Parade, the dog show, food, and the countdown until santa claus and presents galore.…

Last November, a week before Thanksgiving, I was listening to the morning radio talk show The Woody Show and the hosts were talking about how excited they were for the Thanksgiving feast. They all went around and shared what was their perfect meal for that day. It ranged from fried turkey, to stuffing, cornbread, green bean casserole, and towards the end the hosts argued about cranberry sauce. However, they all agreed that pumpkin pie was essential to the perfect meal. I found it very interesting that while they argued about the way the meal was executed, they all agreed on the basic components to the meal-I didn’t.…

Do you think students should have their full week off for Thanksgiving? Well I know I do and my plan is in this essay is to show you why we should have our full weekend for Thanksgiving. My first reason is we shouldn't because if you take Monday and Tuesday you mess up family's that have planned to go somewhere they can't and they have to cancel and the bad part is those family's might not get their money back. And my lead to this is one day in fourth grade we had 30 students and like fifteen checked out on a day that was a Student/Staff holiday because we used our last snow day.…

Christmas break in my opinion is probably the second best brake that we have throughout our school year. The main thing I like about Christmas break is how long it is. But even though I like how long we are off school it's almost like we don't have a break because basketball takes over. We get a few days off but the rest of the days are hitting the gym early in the mornings for two to three hours a day. The days I have is the best thing in the world because I get to relax and do something fun for once.…
